Special Olympics Tennis Team

Pinecrest is pleased to announce that we will be the host practice site for the Northern Virginia Special Olympics Tennis Team. Practice dates TBD. Special Olympics Virginia provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. This gives them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and experience the joy and camaraderie of sports with other Special Olympics athletes in the community.  Area 26 services Special Olympics Virginia in Fairfax County, Arlington and Alexandria as part of the Potomac Region. The tennis program welcomes athletes at all levels of tennis skills, from beginners who play on smaller courts with smaller rackets and foam balls all the way up to “match play” players who play regular tennis on a full-sized court. If you are an athlete interested in playing in our program or a volunteer interested in helping out, send an email to the tennis coordinator for more information.  For more information, please visit their website at:  https://novasova.org/
